Verifying is free for everyone, forever, with no key and no account. What you pay for is signing.
Checkout is not open yet. The free tier works today — install the add-in, verify anything, and sign three records a month. Email support@appgarden.co.uk if you want telling when Pro opens.
The checkout could not be opened. An extension or a network policy is blocking Paddle. Email support@appgarden.co.uk and you will be sent a payment link.
Plans
Annual is £60 — £5 a month, and £12 a year less than monthly.
Free
£0 anyone, forever
- Verifying is unlimited and free for everyone — any signed workbook, any machine, no licence key, no account, and no network request at all
- See who signed it, when, in what role, at which revision
- Read the red diff: which cells changed and what they used to say
- Three local records a month, marked “not countersigned”
- Mark your input cells, so a record does not go red on normal use
Verifying is what the sign-off sheet in somebody’s quality file points at. It is free because it has to be: nothing to buy, nothing to enter, install it and it works.
Pro
£6 per month
- Everything in Free
- Unlimited countersigned records — the record itself cannot be edited afterwards
- Sign & lock: protect the calculation, leave the input cells open
- The pre-sign checks, so you are not signing blind
- The printable Sign-off sheet for the quality file
- Export the report as text or CSV — the artefact that goes in a file note
- Three installs, so your desktop and your laptop both count
Your key is shown on screen at the end of checkout, on a page you should keep. It is not emailed — the key is issued by this site, not by the payment provider.
Records signed by a lapsed subscriber still verify. Forever.
If you stop paying, every record you have already issued goes on verifying for everybody, for as long as the file exists. There is no code path that could stop it: verification reads the workbook and a public key that ships inside the add-in, and asks nothing of any server.
What lapsing stops is making new countersigned records.
Why a subscription and not a one-off
Because the countersigning server has a running cost, and because a sign-off is not something you do once — every revision of every calculation gets signed again. If you only want to sign the occasional record, the free tier does three a month and costs nothing.
For comparison: ExcelSafe, the established product in this space, is around $3,995 plus $1,095 per user, and it is aimed at FDA-regulated environments. This is about one per cent of that, for everyone who is not.
How buying works
- Pay through Paddle, who are the merchant of record and handle VAT.
- Your licence key is shown on screen at the end of checkout. Copy it — it is the only copy.
- Paste it into Enter a licence key at the bottom of the Excel pane, and press Activate.
A key activates on up to three machines, which covers a desktop, a laptop, and a VDI session that reinstalls itself.
Refunds
Thirty days, no argument and no questions about why. The refund policy.
Bundle
Sign-off Pro includes Pro on the Hardcoded Value Detector, Change Diff and the External Link and Dependency Mapper — those three are the pre-sign checks and the red diff in their own right.
This is not Part 11 software, and does not pretend to be
Calculation Sign-Off and Lock is a sign-off record and tamper evidence. It is not a 21 CFR Part 11 or EU Annex 11 electronic signature: there is no per-user access control and no full audit trail, and the signer's name is typed rather than verified.
If you are in a regulated GxP environment, you want ExcelSafe or something like it, and it will cost you roughly four thousand dollars. This is for everyone below that line — ISO 9001 engineering calculation checking, finance model sign-off, non-GxP labs, consultancy deliverables — where the current control is a printout, a biro and hope.
