Explaining a cell is free and always will be. What you pay for is documenting the whole model — every formula on a sheet at once, deduplicated, as something you can hand to somebody else.

- Explain a whole sheet at once, deduplicated by pattern — a column of 400 identical formulas is one entry, not 400
- The handover pack: every formula pattern, its inputs, the hardcoded constants and the fragility list, as one document
- A glossary of every defined name and table column
- A model summary — which sheets are inputs, which calculate, which are output
- Three installs, so your desktop and your laptop both count
Both cycles grant exactly the same features; the monthly one is there so a single handover does not need a year's commitment. Twelve months at £3.50 is £42, so the annual price saves £13.
Your key is shown on screen at the end of checkout, on a page you should keep. A copy is emailed to the address you paid with, so it is there to find again.
The explanation is never paid for
Selecting a cell and reading what it does is free permanently, and so is copying that explanation out to send to somebody. Five free websites do a context-blind version of it; charging for the version that can see your workbook would still be charging for the part of this that is a commodity.
What a licence covers
- One person, three installs. A desktop, a laptop, and a machine that gets rebuilt.
- Every update for as long as it is running.
- Cancel whenever. Explaining cells keeps working; the whole-sheet features stop at the end of the period you paid for.

Refunds
Ask and you get one, within 30 days, no reason needed. Refund policy.

In Excel, open the pane from Home › Explain formula, expand Enter a licence key at the bottom, paste it in and press Activate.
Prices exclude any tax, which is calculated at checkout from your location. Paddle is the merchant of record.
