Explaining a cell is free and always will be. What you pay for is documenting the whole model — every formula on a sheet at once, deduplicated, as something you can hand to somebody else.

The annual price is the same licence for two months less. Both grant exactly the same features; the monthly one is there so a single handover does not need a year's commitment.
Your key is shown on screen at the end of checkout, on a page you should keep. It is not emailed — the key is issued by this site, not by the payment provider.
The explanation is never paid for
Selecting a cell and reading what it does is free permanently, and so is copying that explanation out to send to somebody. Five free websites do a context-blind version of it; charging for the version that can see your workbook would still be charging for the part of this that is a commodity.
What a licence covers
- One person, three installs. A desktop, a laptop, and a machine that gets rebuilt.
- Every update for as long as it is running.
- Cancel whenever. Explaining cells keeps working; the whole-sheet features stop at the end of the period you paid for.

Refunds
Ask and you get one, within 30 days, no reason needed. Refund policy.
Already have a key?
In Excel, open the pane from Home › Explain formula, expand Enter a licence key at the bottom, paste it in and press Activate.
Prices exclude any tax, which is calculated at checkout from your location. Paddle is the merchant of record.
