App Garden

Small, sharp spreadsheet add-ins

Refund policy

Every App Garden add-in for Excel™. Last updated 20 September 2026.

The short version

Full refund within 30 days of a payment, for any reason. Email [email protected] from the address you paid on. You do not need to justify it, and there is nothing to return.

The AI Readiness Scanner and Fixer for Google Sheets™ has its own refund policy. The thirty days and the no-questions part are the same; it is a separate document because its tiers and its reversal feature are its own, and the clauses below name Excel™ add-ins one by one.

Every add-in has a free tier so you can try it on your own workbooks before paying — the scan in the AI Readiness Scanner and Fixer, the active-sheet check in the Hardcoded Value Detector. If the paid part then turns out not to earn its keep, that is exactly what this window is for.

How to ask

Email support from the address on the purchase. Include the order or transaction reference from the receipt Paddle sent you if you have it — it makes the refund immediate rather than a search.

Refunds are issued by Paddle, the merchant of record, back to the original payment method. Paddle typically settles within a few working days, though your bank may take longer to show it.

Renewals

Both plans are subscriptions. A renewal is refundable on the same terms: within 30 days of that payment, in full.

Cancelling and refunding are separate things. Cancelling stops future payments and leaves the licence running to the end of the period already paid for. A refund ends the licence at the point it is issued, cancels the subscription so nothing renews, and the add-in drops back to the free tier. Cancelling is done through Paddle, from the receipt it emailed you or at paddle.net, and refunds nothing: to get a refund, email support as well. A partial refund, such as a duplicate charge put right, leaves the licence running.

To avoid a renewal altogether, cancel before the renewal date shown in the pane under Licence and on your Paddle receipt.

After 30 days

Outside the window there is no automatic right to a refund, but ask anyway if something went wrong — a duplicate charge, a subscription that renewed after you meant to cancel, or a licence that never worked. Those get sorted out regardless of the date.

Your statutory rights

If you bought as a consumer in the UK or the EU you have a 14-day right to cancel a distance purchase. Digital content delivered immediately is an exception to that right, and by starting checkout you agree to immediate delivery of the licence key — so the 30-day policy above is offered in its place and is more generous than the statutory period. Nothing here removes any right you hold under law, including for software that is faulty or not as described.

Reversing a change, whatever happens

Restore in the AI Readiness Scanner and Fixer, and Undo in the Hardcoded Value Detector, the Import Cleaner for Xero and the External Link and Dependency Mapper, are free in every tier and are never withdrawn. Refunding a licence, or cancelling one, does not take away your ability to reverse a fix an add-in applied. Two-File Reconciliation, Change Diff, Structure Flattener and the Unit-aware Calculation Checker never rewrite a cell you authored in the first place: they only add sheets, and the sheets they read are untouched. The Selection-Scoped Formula Explainer does not write to your workbook at all, so there is nothing it could leave behind to reverse.

Remove protection in Calculation Sign-Off and Lock is free in every tier too, and is never withdrawn. Signing adds a record inside the workbook, locks the sheets it signed, and optionally writes a printable Sign-off sheet; removing the lock and deleting that sheet undoes all of it, whether or not a licence is live. Records already signed keep verifying for everybody forever, including after a refund or a cancellation — verifying needs no licence and no account, so nothing you have already issued stops working because you stopped paying.
