Stripe™ payout reconciliation: split gross, fee and net in Google Sheets™
A Stripe™ payout reconciliation export lists every balance transaction behind a payout. To book it you need gross in, gross out, fee and net as separate figures, and to be sure the lines are sound first.
Reports it recognises
The itemized payout reconciliation and ending-balance reconciliation reports, the payouts and balance-change reports, the summary reports and the balance summary. The checks are built from Stripe's published column documentation.
Checks that run first
- Net is gross minus fee, per line (PO-02).
- Refunds and disputes carry a negative gross, and charges a positive one (PO-04).
- The same balance transaction appearing twice (PO-07).
- More than one currency (PO-05), and rows with no payout id (PO-06 and PO-12).
- Transaction types the add-on does not recognise (PO-10).
The split
The split (PO-18) writes four new columns to the right of your data: PO gross in, PO gross out, PO fee and PO net. It goes by sign rather than by transaction type, so it does not depend on category names, and it never overwrites your original columns. Sum them per payout with SUMIFS.
You see a preview of the exact changes before anything is written. Every fix saves a hidden copy of the sheet first, and Undo, free in every tier, restores it.
What you get, and what you do not
You get new columns in the same sheet. The add-on does not create import lines or a journal tab yet, and it does not connect to Stripe or to your accounting package: you take the figures to Xero™ or QuickBooks™ yourself.
Check the file before you trust it
Payout Export Cleaner scans a Shopify™ or Stripe™ payout export in Google Sheets™, or a sheet you are about to import into Xero™ or QuickBooks™, and explains every finding. The full scan, every explanation and Undo are free, and your data stays in your Google™ account. It edits the spreadsheet only and never connects to Shopify, Stripe, Xero or QuickBooks.
