Who you are buying from

The add-ins are made and operated by App Garden, contactable at [email protected]. These terms cover the ten App Garden add-ins for Excel™; where a clause names a plan or a feature, it means the one you bought.

The AI Readiness Scanner and Fixer for Google Sheets™ is sold under its own terms. It is an Apps Script™ add-on distributed through the Google Workspace™ Marketplace rather than an Office add-in, so what you install it from, what it runs on and what its tiers are all differ from the clauses below. Paddle is still the merchant of record for it.

Paddle.com Market Ltd is the merchant of record for every purchase. Paddle takes the payment, issues the invoice, handles the tax and is the seller named on your receipt. Paddle's own buyer terms apply to the transaction; these terms cover the software itself.

What the licence gives you

A paid licence unlocks, for as long as the subscription is live:

• AI Readiness Scanner and Fixer — the fixes, both the one-click ones and the guided ones. Scanning the sheet and reading every explanation are free and stay free.
• Hardcoded Value Detector — the whole-workbook scan, the guided fix, and the CSV and Markdown export. Checking and explaining the active sheet are free and stay free.
• Two-File Reconciliation — no row limit, composite and near-matching keys, saved recipes, and the CSV export. Reconciling up to 1,000 rows a side on a single key is free and stays free.
• Change Diff — the whole workbook, no row limit, every change class, structural detection, the report export, and walking the change list in the workbook. Comparing the active sheet, up to 1,000 rows, on the two formula classes is free and stays free.
• Import Cleaner for Xero — every fix, contact-name matching settled before the upload creates duplicates, the remembered date format, and the CSV and Markdown export. The full scan in both directions, every explanation and Undo are free and stay free.
• Structure Flattener — no row cap, multi-sheet batch flattening, and saved section-name overrides. Full detection and preview on any report, flattening up to 100 rows, and the grand-total reconciliation check are free and stay free.
• Unit-aware Calculation Checker — checking the whole workbook, your own unit overrides saved into the workbook, the report worksheet, and the CSV export. Checking the active sheet, every finding with the cells it blames, and the units panel are free and stay free.
• External Link and Dependency Mapper — the exportable report, breaking a link with a preview of what it changes, and the dependency map. Finding every external reference in the workbook, and every explanation of what it is and where it sits, are free and stay free.
• Selection-Scoped Formula Explainer — every distinct formula on a sheet explained at once and deduplicated by pattern, the handover pack that comes out of it, the glossary of defined names and table columns, and the model summary. Explaining the selected cell — the sentence, the steps, what it reads, the typed-in values, the fragility warnings, and copying any of it out — is free, unlimited and stays free.
• Calculation Sign-Off and Lock — signing off a calculation, locking it, the printable sign-off sheet, and a record countersigned by App Garden. Free accounts may sign three workbooks a month, and those records say on their face that they are local and not countersigned. Verifying is free for everyone, forever, with no licence key, no account and no network: a record signed by a lapsed subscriber goes on verifying for everybody, permanently. It is a sign-off record and tamper evidence, not an audit, a validation, or an electronic signature in the regulated sense, and it is not 21 CFR Part 11 or Annex 11 compliant.

Reversing a change is free in every tier, always. Four of the add-ins fix in place, and each names its own reversal: Restore in the AI Readiness Scanner and Fixer, Undo in the Hardcoded Value Detector, Undo in the Import Cleaner for Xero, and Undo in the External Link and Dependency Mapper. None of them lapses with a licence, and all keep working after one is cancelled. An add-in that can write to your workbook but charges to reverse it would be indefensible.

The other six never rewrite a cell you authored. Two-File Reconciliation, Change Diff and Structure Flattener only ever create new sheets, and the Unit-aware Calculation Checker adds its report sheet and stores your unit overrides beside it — the sheets they read are left exactly as they were, so undoing a run means deleting what it added. The Selection-Scoped Formula Explainer writes nothing at all: there is no fix to apply and so nothing to reverse. Calculation Sign-Off and Lock adds its record and, if you ask for it, a printable Sign-off sheet, and it protects the sheets it signed — leaving the cells you designated as inputs open. Its reversal is named Remove protection, it is free in every tier like the rest, and it does not lapse with a licence. The protection is a convenience and not the control: Excel™'s sheet protection is trivially removed, and the claim this add-in makes is that a change is detected, never that it is prevented. Its one write is opt-in, off by default, and asks first — showing the live value of each step puts those steps on a hidden worksheet and deletes it again in the same operation, which clears Excel™'s redo history and leaves the workbook otherwise as it was.

A Pro licence covers three installs. A Team licence covers the number of seats you bought, one seat per install; a seat released on one machine frees up for another. Team unlocks exactly what Pro unlocks — it is a seat count, not a different feature set.

A licence is for one add-in. Buying Pro for one does not unlock the other, and a key issued for one will not activate the other.

The licence is personal to you or your organisation. You may not resell it, share the key outside the seats you bought, or redistribute the add-in itself.

Billing and cancellation

Both plans are subscriptions and renew automatically — monthly or annually, as bought — until cancelled. Prices are shown exclusive of any tax, which Paddle calculates at checkout from your location.

Cancel at any time through Paddle, from the receipt it emailed you or at paddle.net. Cancelling stops the next payment; the licence keeps working to the end of the period you have paid for, then drops back to the free tier. Nothing in your workbooks is affected, and Restore and Undo continue to work.

If a payment fails, Paddle retries the card over several days. The add-in stays fully working during those retries rather than cutting off at the first failure.

Your data

Your workbook never leaves your machine, and the licence check carries no workbook content of any kind. The privacy notice sets out exactly what is read, what is stored and what is sent.

What the add-ins do not promise

They are tools, not audits. The AI Readiness Scanner and Fixer checks the structure of a worksheet against the things that make Copilot™ misread it, and its score is a summary of what those checks found — not a guarantee about what Copilot™ will answer. A sheet scoring 100 is not a sheet certified as correct, and no score is a statement about Microsoft's product. The Hardcoded Value Detector reports two specific checks — values sitting where formulas are expected, and constants written inside formulas. It will not find every problem in a workbook, and a sheet with no findings is not a sheet certified as correct; deliberately, it prints no score.

A fix rewrites cells in your workbook. It takes a restore point first, and reversing it is always available — but you remain responsible for checking the result, and for keeping your own backups of work that matters. Review what a fix proposes before applying it.

The software is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, App Garden is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost profit or lost data, arising from its use; and any liability that cannot be excluded is limited to what you paid in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability for death, personal injury, or fraud, or affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

Availability and changes

The licence server is needed to activate a key and to confirm it periodically; a paid installation keeps working for seven days after the last successful check, so a brief outage does not lock you out.

Features may change as the add-ins develop. If a change removes something you are paying for, it will be announced before your next renewal so you can cancel. These terms may be updated; the date at the top says when, and the version in force is the one published when you bought or last renewed.

A licence may be ended for non-payment, or for redistributing the key. Ending a licence never disables Restore or Undo.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, whose courts have jurisdiction. If you bought as a consumer elsewhere, the mandatory protections of your own country still apply.
