Personal Data and Sharing Check is a Google Workspace™ editor add-on for Google Sheets™, published by AppGarden (appgarden.co.uk). Installing or using it means you accept these terms.

What you are buying

The Free tier is unlimited checks, every finding, the sharing checks, Before I share, by-hand fix steps, the Find-a-person match count and Remove PDS tabs, with no account and no expiry. The Pro tier adds the share-safe copy, the redacted download, redact in place, Find a person (cells, export, erase), the data map tab and CSV, and custom patterns with saved ignore lists, for £39 a year or £4.50 a month, and covers 3 activations — 3 Google accounts, each able to use the licence across every spreadsheet in that account.

Payment and merchant of record

Paddle.com Market Limited is the merchant of record for all purchases, handles payment processing and tax, and appears on your card or bank statement. AppGarden fulfils the licence; Paddle handles the money.

Refunds

A full refund within 30 days of any payment, for any reason. See the refund policy for how to ask for one.

Licence and activations

A Pro licence key activates on up to 3 Google accounts. Deactivate one from the sidebar to free a slot for another. The licence is for your own use across the spreadsheets you own or can edit; it is not for resale or for issuing sub-licences to other people.

Checking is never withdrawn

Checking, Before I share, by-hand steps, the match count and Remove PDS tabs are free in every tier, are not part of what you are paying for on Pro, and do not lapse if a Pro licence is cancelled or expires.

What the add-on does and does not do

It checks a Google Sheet™ for possible personal data, hiding places and sharing, explains its findings, and applies the treatments described in the guide when you ask it to. It does not guarantee to find every item of personal data — heuristic checks (names, addresses, special-category hints) miss things, and the findings say “may be” for exactly that reason.

It is not legal advice, not GDPR compliance, and does not decide lawful basis, retention or exemptions. Where the law matters, the ICO’s guidance — or your lawyer — is the reference, not this add-on.

Redaction and version history

Redact in place changes the file you run it on, and editors can still see earlier values in version history — the sidebar warns you every time and makes you download a backup first. The share-safe copy is the default precisely because a copy has no version history. You are responsible for checking the copy before you share it.

Availability and liability

The add-on is provided as-is. To the extent permitted by law, AppGarden’s liability for any claim arising from it is limited to the amount you paid for the licence in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or anything else the law says cannot be limited.
