Your Vinted sales history for a tax return

Vinted™ has no sales CSV. This page shows how to get your sales out of Vinted anyway, and how to turn them into a ledger by UK tax year in Google Sheets™ — without giving any tool your Vinted login.

Getting your sales out

  1. In Vinted, open Settings → Privacy settings → Manage account data and request your data. Vinted emails a download link, usually within a few days. The download is a ZIP file.
  2. Unzip it and open the file with your sales or wallet history.
  3. Copy the rows — date, item, sold price and status for each sale — and paste them into the Vinted: paste your sold history box in the sidebar. If your rows have no header row, the add-on adds one.

The add-on cannot open the ZIP itself yet. If the file inside it does not look like the description above, email support@appgarden.co.uk with its column names (not your sales) and this page will be updated.

Tools that read Vinted for you usually need a browser extension or your login. This one never does: you copy the rows, and nothing leaves Google.

What counts, and what does not

Sold priceYour income from the sale.
Buyer protection feePaid by the buyer to Vinted. Not your income, and not your cost.
PostageThe buyer pays it to Vinted, so it is not your income either.
Bumps, wardrobe spotlightYour costs of selling. They go to the Shop costs tab.
Refunds, cancellationsTaken off the sale they belong to.
Transfers to your bankYour own money moving from your Vinted balance. Never income.

Has Vinted told HMRC about my sales?

Only if you made 30 or more sales, or received €2,000 (about £1,700) or more, on Vinted in a calendar year. Vinted must also give you a copy of what it reported. Being reported is not a tax bill: selling your own unwanted clothes is not usually taxed. The UK tax notes explain the rules, each linked to GOV.UK.

What Seller Export Cleaner does with it

Your pasted rows become a Vinted file in the ledger, alongside your Etsy™ and eBay™ sales if you sell there too. Each sale gets its UK tax year, and the sidebar shows whether your Vinted sales reach the reporting limits for each calendar year. Paste next month's sales in the same way; anything already imported is skipped.
